Photo Fridays: My Wedding

Today, I am showing something really special! Sunday, August 1st marks my 1 year wedding anniversary! I thought it would be the perfect time to share some of my wedding photos! I am so in love with all of my photos by Tina Sargeant, it was really hard to narrow it down!

If you couldn't already tell, I love vintage glam and all things Audrey Hepburn. That was the inspiration I took in planning my wedding. My favorite colors are black and white and turquoise. I wanted to go with that color scheme, but very light on the turquoise. A bright color like that can easily overpower others, so the turquoise was mainly translucent, like in the lighting and dyed water (and shoes too!)

My venue was absolutely amazing! I wanted something with character and a great vintage vibe. I found the Mirror Lake Lyceum in St. Pete and it is stunning! It is an old restored art deco meeting hall with fabulous chandeliers and a lot of space!

It was a real DIY wedding. I planned everything and designed all of the paper goods. My favorite detail was probably the cute Mr. and Mrs. signs I created for our seats. We had a vintage memory table with all of our family wedding portraits for guests to look at while they found their table number. I also created our own little photo booth station full of props along with an album for guests to sign that I placed the fun photos in later.

For the cocktail hour, we did a whole Cuban theme, because my husband's family is from Cuba. We served mojitos in the downstairs bar and had dominoes for people to play! For the reception, I really wanted a dessert bar! We had our cake flanked with two tables full of creme brulee spoons, cheesecake lollipops, and all sorts of other goodies! And the cake, it was fabulous! Chocolate Pi created the most beautiful stenciled rose design, inspired by a cake I saw in Martha Stewart. My dad and I made the cake stand with glass door knobs as the feet. For favors, we created cute little take home boxes for guests to take home some of their favorites desserts. It was a great money saver!

All in all, it was a wonderful day and everything I wanted. Sure, there were some mishaps, but no one told me about them and I was none the wiser! Everyone says how it goes by so fast and you won't remember anything. I was worried about this and made sure to soak in every moment, every smile, every kiss! I'm so happy to be the Mrs. to my high school sweetheart of 8 years!

And this is why Tina is amazing: sexy second dress shots in the old elevator!! Thanks so much Tina for everything, you are phenomenal!

I love you dear! Here's to many more years of love and laughter!
